Our methodology
How we connect.
How students grow.
Free books. Creative tools. People who show up. Five connected ways we turn resources and relationships into opportunities for students.
Open each section to see how it works.
Read.Free books. Reading and writing workshops.
Put a book in their hands. Give their voice room to grow.
We give students free books and connect reading with conversation, imagination and writing. In workshops, students explore stories, share what they notice and develop ideas of their own.
How we connect with students
- Free books students can keep and read at home.
- Reading and writing workshops that invite students to participate.
- Books and classroom resources selected with educators.
What we want students to gain
More access to books, confidence expressing ideas and a reason to keep reading.
Create.Art supplies. Art classes. Original work.
Give them the tools. See what they make.
We provide art supplies and create opportunities for students to learn through art classes and creative workshops. Students explore techniques, experiment with materials and turn their own experiences into something they can share.
How we connect with students
- Art supplies for students and classrooms.
- Art classes and guided creative projects.
- Opportunities to develop and share original artwork and writing.
What we want students to gain
Creative confidence, new skills and a piece of work a student can call their own.
Learn.Practical skills. Financial literacy. Leadership.
Connect learning to the life ahead.
We are developing practical learning experiences that help students apply what they know to everyday life. Sessions can connect financial literacy, decision-making and leadership with activities students work through together.
How we connect with students
- Practical lessons about money, choices and planning.
- Leadership activities that build communication and collaboration.
- Learning support shaped around needs identified with educators.
What we want students to gain
Useful knowledge, stronger decision-making and confidence taking the next step.
Connect.Mentors. Creative professionals. New possibilities.
Let students meet people who open doors.
We build relationships between school communities and people with something useful to share. Our developing model brings artists, writers, educators and other professionals into conversations and hands-on sessions with students.
How we connect with students
- Introductions to mentors and creative professionals.
- Workshops where students can learn directly from someone’s experience.
- School and community partnerships that make new opportunities possible.
What we want students to gain
Relationships, encouragement and a wider sense of what they could become.
Recognize. The Laureate Award. A public stage for achievement.
Make their effort visible.
The World We Share Laureate Award gives student art and writing a public stage. The planned December 10, 2026 recognition at the California State Capitol celebrates five laureates and shows students that their ideas deserve to be taken seriously.
How we connect with students
- Recognition for original student art and writing.
- Opportunities to share work beyond the classroom.
- A community of educators, creatives and supporters celebrating academic and creative achievement.
What we want students to gain
Pride in their work, a sense of belonging and motivation to keep creating.
One connected approach
From a first book
to a public stage.
A student receives a book, finds an idea, creates something, meets someone who encourages them and gets to share their work.
These five areas reinforce one another. We shape the activities with school partners around what students need and what we can deliver well.
